Female club players complain about character appearances in Fifa 23

The leading electronic soccer game has received an update with the American Women’s League

Fifa 23 has received another major update to allow fans of the game to immerse themselves more in the world of football. Now, the EA Sports game also features the updated version of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), the top women’s soccer league in the United States. In all, 12 new teams from women’s soccer were included in the game.

However, despite the game’s big initiative to include more women’s teams on the platform, the way this was done has generated criticism from club players. Using social networks, some of the athletes present at the update complained about the appearance of the electronic characters that should represent them.

Houston Dash player Caprice Dydasco was one of the first to speak up about the situation, not happy with how her appearance has been recreated in the game. In addition to her, other athletes also spoke about the case.

“I’m grateful that EA Sports has finally added the NWSL, but this character doesn’t represent me.”

Liverpool athlete Katie Stengel responded to her fellow pro in her own Tweet. In response, the player tells Caprice that he is happy that at least the game developers awarded her hair. What didn’t happen with the representation of her in the game.

Angel City FC player Sydney Leroux was more severe in her criticism. The athlete made a series of posts on her social network criticizing the way she and many colleagues were represented within the game. There were players who ended up with no hair or with a completely different interface from reality.

– I know you expect women to be grateful for giving us some publicity, but please stop wasting our time. Some of us are bald – criticized the athlete.
