The Liberal Party (PL) confirmed on Monday 27 that former president Jair Bolsonaro will be honorary president of the party after returning to the country. The former CEO left Brazil on December 30 last year and has been in the US for about 3 months.
According to the party’s press office, the invitation to the place of honor was made by the president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto. Again according to the advisory, the former president has already accepted the invitation.
Bolsonaro joined the caption in November 2021. Before joining the PL, the former president had been without a caption for 2 years. In 2018, he was elected by the PSL, but left the party in 2019, after disagreements with the party’s top leadership.
