More than twenty years after its release, the film city of gods win series on HBO Max. The book adaptation of the same name will see the story told in a flashback format, with several new scenes. Three actors from the original cast will participate in the new production.

The city of God is based on the 1997 book by Paulo Lins. The series will have six episodes and will be produced by O2. The screenplay bears the signature of Sergio Machado and is already in the final phase.
