There’s no long wait for House of the Dragon Season 2, it hasn’t started filming yet (production is set to begin on April 17th) and so isn’t scheduled until Summer 2024… at best!
However, this second season of the Game of Thrones prequel is already talking about it, unfortunately for the wrong reasons. This was definitely confirmed by our colleagues Deadline that these 2 seasons would be shorter than the previous ones, with a total of eight episodes (versus ten episodes of the first).
A choice that isn’t to the fans’ taste, as you might imagine, but which is justified for scriptural reasons. The production would already have other seasons programmed and thus it was decided to postpone the fight that was supposed to intervene from this season 2 in order to prepare the continuation of the series.
Asking House of the Dragon fans to wait over a year to finally offer a smaller number of episodes will therefore force the American cable channel to meet expectations, which is no small thing considering the big one. Success has already been achieved for the first season!
The first season of House of the Dragon is now available on the Amazon Prime Video platform with Warner Pass.
