Micropigmentation is the new trend in the beauty market

With the market on the rise, micropigmentators are looking for products that help from the cleansing process to healing

According to the Brazilian Association of the Personal Care, Perfumery and Cosmetics Industry (ABIHPEC), the Brazil is the fourth largest beauty market in the worldbehind only the United States, China and Japan.

Among the many aesthetic procedures is micropigmentation, which is a method that involves implanting pigments into the skin to correct imperfections or enhance facial features, such as eyebrows, eyes and lips. The goal is to create a more defined and symmetrical look, with a permanent makeup effect.

In addition to the affirmation of a new professional on the market, the micropigmentation professional, there are other businesses that grow together, especially those related to the supply of specific equipment and products for micropigmentation.

The CEO of MBoah Micro, company specialized in vegan cosmetics and with natural active ingredients, Thaísa Boaventura, reveals that tattoo equipment and cosmetics distributors, suppliers, are adapting well to the sector. “Allied to the national reach we have with distributors of tattoo products, we understand that increasing the product mix brings the possibility of being a business for those who want to increase their customer base.”

What is the growth forecast for the Micropigmentation market?

The market for vegan products is expected to earn more than R$18 billion by 2024, according to research developed by Technavio. With this, the micropigmentation market has become popular with the growing demand for the procedure which can be done on eyebrows, hair and lips.

Thaísa Boaventura comments that due to this boom in the beauty market, the company, which initially only produced cosmetics for tattoos, felt the need to develop a new product portfolio, focusing on the micropigmentation method. “Because we’ve been working with tattoo cosmetics for over ten years, it’s easier for us to understand the careful universe of micropigmentation,” she says.

Tips for industry professionals

It is important to keep in mind that specific cosmetics must be used to perform this type of procedure. Biochemist pharmacist, cosmetology specialist and technical director of MBoah, Mônica Boaventura, clarifies that professionals should avoid improvisation. “It is important to use specific micropigmentation products at each stage of the procedure, so that the results are satisfactory. Remembering that the skin will be damaged, it is important to use soft products with a lower allergenic power,” says the specialist.

Look for vegan products on the market

According to the data of Brazilian Vegetarian Society (SVB)), searches for the term “vegan” increased by 300% in Brazil. And it’s no wonder that many professionals are looking for more natural and vegan products, since according to the survey conducted by SVB, 56% of respondents try to use vegan products to take care of their health and 67% considers the sustainability of the brand a very important factor. Professional micropigmenter Olga Esteves comments that she prioritizes vegan and natural products, because, according to her, “this can greatly reduce allergy conditions in clients,” she says.

All MBoah Micro and MBoah Tattoo products are duly regulated by Anvisa.
