The premiere of the film “Our Winter” by Stepan Burnashev, a well-known author at home and abroad, took place in the KION online cinema. Burnashev successfully experiments with genres: his catalog includes horror, social dramas, and now a melodrama about divorce. The main roles in the film were played by Irina Mikhailova, Ilya Yakovlev and Zoya Bagynanova.
The main characters Lida and Dima have been married for 10 years. There are no financial problems in the family: he has his own phone repair business, she works in a construction company, is preparing for a promotion. Everything seems to be fine with them, but Lida is missing something in her life. The tension in the relationship is gradually growing. Spouses come to the only right decision: they need to get a divorce. Their friends do not understand the reasons for the divorce, but everything is clear to Lida and Dima, it’s time to move on. She hits the job for a career advancement, and he agrees to the proposal of a director friend to take part in the filming of the film.
“Our Winter” is an atypical drama about the separation of two people, because the director’s attention is devoted to the growth of the characters, their transformation after a divorce, and not to screams and insults. Therefore, in the picture, special emphasis is placed on time. While Lida and Dima live with each other, the days count, every second next to them is painful for the heroes. After a break, days change into months, and then seasons – a serious event turns out to be not so important in life, but just one of the pages of history.
Stepan Burnashev is a well-known Yakut director, winner of the Window to Europe film festival in Vyborg for the film Black Snow. Together with his colleague and friend Dmitry Davydov, he filmed an almanac of village stories “Yt”, their work received a special prize at the 37th Warsaw Film Festival.
