With each new piece of information, the networks are reacting to the casting of Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn in ‘Joker 2’ and among them are the comparisons of her wardrobe to that of Margot Robbie.
After being created in the cartoon “Batman: The Animated Series” in 1992, Harley Quinn made the jump to DC comics and in 2016 she made her film debut as Margot Robbie in “Suicide Squad”.
Although Margot Robbie had to follow tough rules to become Harley Quinn, the “Barbie” actress has remained the face of the Joker’s murderous girlfriend on film ever since.
However, Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix’s sequel to ‘Joker’ (2019) will feature their own version of Dr. Harleen Quinzel and with her wardrobe as the villain leaked, fans are already comparing the two versions.

Lady Gaga vs Margot Robbie: fans think which Harley Quinn look is better?
In the DC movies, only in a deleted scene from ‘Suicide Squad’, Harley used her classic costume from the cartoons and comics, in other appearances she has used bright colors and many different costumes.
Instead, leaked photos from the set of ‘Joker 2’ revealed that Lady Gaga’s costume as Harley Quinn is more inspired by her classic look, being red, white and black with diamond patterns.
However, the opinions of fans online about Lady Gaga’s appearance as the villain differed, with one party saying that she has already surpassed Margot Robbie’s performance and the other saying the opposite.
Also due to the more realistic and dark style that ‘Joker 2’ will have, some of the comments are saying that Harley Quinn’s wardrobe looks much better than what was seen before with Margot Robbie.
The comparisons are even predicting the role Lady Gaga will play, with some fans saying that Gaga will be better because she has shown that she has more acting range, although some say that Robbie has already made the character her own.
Margot Robbie in an interview in October 2022 for MTV News said that she was happy because Lady Gaga was Harley Quinn, believing that the character is like Batman or Macbeth and has to go through many actors.
Fans will be able to draw further comparisons between Lady Gaga and Margot Robbie’s versions of Harley Quinn when “Joker: Folie à Deux” hits theaters in October 2024.
