Benoit is gone
Lisa spent the night watching episodes of the cartoon “The Adventures of Mina”. In one, Mina protects a character from abusive parents. The little boy is called Ben, like Benoit Letelier. Then Lisa remembered that when she called her friend Ben instead of Benoit, the latter was completely horrified and then asked her never to call him like that again. For Lisa, this nickname must certainly bring back bad memories and she could identify with this character because her parents were abusive.
Although Georges reminds her that the investigation showed that this was not the case, Lisa replies that this would not be the first time that a case of abuse has crossed the radar of a police investigation. Ever since, she wonders if Benoit killed her parents to take justice into her own hands. Believing that he is going to look for a connection where there is none, Georges and Sarah encourage him to move.
Meanwhile, Benjamin and Audrey prepare for Alma’s funeral. A particularly difficult moment for Benjamin, who burst into tears. While Audrey tries to find out if Adrian will attend the funeral, Benjamin replies that he won’t because of the canceled flight news. However, Benjamin knows very well that if he doesn’t come, it’s because he can’t say goodbye to his mother. So he promised Hadrian to come to Bali to scatter Alma’s ashes there.
Later, Lisa sets up a meeting with Benjamin by the canal to ask him some questions about the investigation in a private capacity. Benjamin then confirms that Benoit was well aware of their disagreement over wanting children. He also tells her that Benoit overheard the strained relationship between them during Alma’s farewell party two weeks earlier. When he tries to understand why she’s asking him, Lisa tells him that her colleagues justified her, but not her. Although she is convinced that Benoit is the monster of Argentail, Lisa unfortunately does not have enough elements to prove it.
Enraged, Benjamin goes to Benoit’s house and accuses him of killing Alma. Although this one swears that he has done nothing, Benjamin, in a black rage, throws him to the ground and orders him to confess his guilt. in vain Enraged, Benjamin begins to strangle her. Running out of air, Benoit grabs his shirt and rips it off while trying to grab the gun that is hidden in the plinth.
At the high school, Chloe informs all her students that the afternoon will be completely invisible to those who want to go to Alma’s funeral. He then asks François if he has seen Benoit, but the SVT teacher has not arrived. As he does not answer her calls, Agnes Varda’s principal is concerned, as Benoit is found to be running a fever after being questioned by the police. In turn, Francois tries to join him, but to no avail. Finally, Chloe alerts the police.
After that, Karim and Sarah go to Benoit’s. The door is open, the police enter the apartment and quickly note that the furniture has been moved before carefully putting it back in place. So Sarah and Karim immediately think about the argument that went wrong.
As things lead to the idea of a disturbing disappearance, Sarah thinks that someone might want to do justice to Benoit as a serial killer. Georges believes that Benoit was a victim of the Argentail monster. She said the killer could have started a relationship with her years before the attack.
A few kilometers away, the man in black took Benoit hostage. Later, it is night when a mysterious individual who is armed leads her into the forest. A handcuffed Benoit swears that he has done nothing and that he is innocent, but the individual forces him to continue… Did Benjamin kidnap Benoit? If Lisa is not there?
