Until May 28, the cinema will be celebrated thanks to the 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. To this day, Sacem honors soundtrack composers with the presence of several big names and a parade of highlights. Music!
The iconic, stair-climbing is largely so for his music, which reflects the steps of those lucky enough to walk the red carpet: Animal Carnival, by Camille Saint-Saens. In this picture, what would it be like without the mythical godfather Nino Rota’s soundtrack, Sergio Leone’s films without Enio Morricone’s scores, or Le Mépris without the theme of Georges Delerus Camille?
Skin 2022 in music by SACEM
There is no shortage of examples: music has a special place in the success of feature and short films, of which it is the cradle. Thus, as an institutional partner of the Cannes Film Festival, Sacem pays tribute to the composers of film music, organizes a parade of performances, in particular the ascent of the composers’ stairs on May 22, at 6 p.m.
“Along with the director and screenwriter, the composer is the third author of the cinematographic workHighlights by Patrick Sigwalt, Composer and Chairman of the Sacem Board. On behalf of the composers I represent, I am proud that Sacem is fulfilling its full role in the new edition of the Cannes Film Festival and continuing its commitment to enhance their talent and creative role.”
To celebrate this 75th edition of Cannes, composers such as Alexander Desplatt (cut!), Camille (corsage), Mr. Oiso (smoking makes you cough), En-Sophie Versnayen (masquerade) or Juxek (La nuit des chasseurs). But few of them will be presented as symbols of the French film school’s excellence and recognized talent.
