In his recently published book, Henrique de Castro Neves talks about Outsourcing, stimulating discussion on the topic of outsourcing and how to apply it in practice.
Since 2017, when the legal framework for outsourcing activities was established in Brazil, through the Law n. 13,467 (Outsourcing Law), the theme gained strength in the country, even eighty years after the Theory of the Enterprise, proposed by the British economist Ronald Coase, in 1937. The author launched the provocation to entrepreneurs and managers: “Do or buy? ” , thus favoring a more pragmatic analysis of the decision to subcontract a certain activity or product with respect to its production.
Thus, following this panorama, Henrique de Castro Neves wrote the book “Make or Buy? How outsourcing can improve your company’s financial results”, published by Editora Dialética, in March of this year, where it proposes an acute exploration of what is outsourcing and its developments and applicability. With a broad theoretical basis in domestic and foreign literature, the outsourcing it is a commonly used term, even in Brazil, as it contemplates the outsourcing of activities or processes, and not just people.
Henrique de Castro Neves acts as an entrepreneur, consultant and professor, having also worked as an executive, he has a PhD in applied economic sciences, where he explored the subject in his doctoral thesis, applying the theory of converting fixed to variable expenses .
The book maps not only Coase Theory and its implications, but also strategically synergistic issues, such as accounting and corporate finance, via the National Tax Code, as well as presenting the strengths and weaknesses of subcontracting, as examples of success and failure. in outsourcing, highlighting successes and preventing possible mistakes, completing the work with examples of application of outsourcing through case studies made by the author.
For the author, numerous variables make planning for the adoption of the outsourcing an option that may be considered by organizations. “For example, for companies taxed on a Real Profit basis, earnings may be even greater because there is a legal provision for state and federal tax credits for expenses related to operating activities, including outsourcing or leasing,” explains Henrique .
The book is available in physical and digital (eBook) versions and can be found at markets and bookstores, or directly from Editora Dialetica website.
