Netflix: Superman and Captain America lend their voices to this animated series adapted from the iconic but little-known film

Last January we learned that comics Scott Pilgrim by Brian Lee O’Malley, adapted for the cinema in 2010 by Edgar Wright, was to be the subject of an animated series produced by Netflix in collaboration with Japanese animation studio Science Saru (Devilman Crybaby). It is not yet specified whether it will be a sequel to the anime film or a remake with new scenes.

Blending action film, romantic comedy and musical codes, Scott Pilgrim plays a young guitarist who falls madly in love with the mysterious Ramona Flowers and her dyed hair. The latter will have to fight to win the young woman’s heart… literally, as he has to face seven of his devilish exes!

Note that this Netflix series won’t be the first Scott Pilgrim animated production to see the light of day! In 2010, the Adult Swim channel actually aired a prequel animated short Scott Pilgrim vs. animationDesigned to promote the release of the film.

A fragment from the short film Scott Pilgrim vs. animation:

On social networks, Netflix and Edgar Wright – believed to be the producer of the project – announced that the entire cast of the film will return for the needs of this animated production.

In this way, Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead, the interpreters of Scott Pilgrim and Ramona Flowers, as well as Chris Evans, Brie Larson, Brandon Ruth or even Kieran Culkin will find their roles.

The Scott Pilgrim anime doesn’t have a Netflix release date yet, but the announcement of the project and the return of the film’s cast has sparked excitement on social media, hinting at success when the series hits shelves. Platform!
