Thor, the Norse god of thunder, son of Odin, first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1962 in the comic. A journey into mystery No. 83. Fifty years later, in 2011, this superhero-turned-character was brought to the big screen in the Thor movie of the same name, starring the actor whose face has become inseparable from the Asgardian: Chris Hemsworth.
