‘Criminals in sight’ ending explained Who is the helicopter pilot?

The Spitz’s new criminal adventure leaves us on edge with an unexpected ending.

The success of ‘Criminals at Sea’ did not surprise anyone, despite the bad reviews. Few Netflix subscribers resisted clicking to see the crime comedy starring Adam Sandlet and Jennifer Aniston. ‘Criminals in sight’ takes good note of it and repeats the play giving more, although not better (and it doesn’t need to).

The ex-policeman and the ex-hairdresser now run their own detective agency, although they are close to having to close the business. But the couple gets one last chance at their new career when they attend the wedding of their friend from the first installment, Vik, aka the Maharajah. The poor man is kidnapped the night before the ceremony and the couple once again leads a troubled investigation where, once again, people do not stop dying here and there while the couple travels through tourist destinations that they can never visit without a crime next to it.

The kidnapper asks for 70 million and the leading couple, Nick and Audrey, are quick to narrow down the suspects: Vik’s business partner Francisco, Vik’s sister Saira, his fiancée Claudette and ex-girlfriend Countess Sekou and her sidekick. Imani. Added to all this is kidnapping expert Connor Miller who arrives to “help”.

‘Criminals in sight’: ending explained

The delivery of the 70 million goes more than wrong (although it is the only interesting sequence in the film). The Spitz destroy half of Paris, Miller seems to be blown to pieces next to his van, and the briefcase ends up in the hands of Sekou and Imani, who kill each other. After getting ready for the occasion, Nick and Audrey meet with the rest of the protagonists at the Eiffel Tower and there Vik appears to reveal himself as the villain with Vik loaded with a bomb.

After a thousand accidents and risky bets from the Spitz, Audrey manages to attach a cable to Miller to the helicopter. Yes, the bad guy in the movie has a pretty gory ending. We find it hard to believe that after the scene of the van the Spitz are on good terms with the French authorities after making a helicopter full of people debut on the Seine next to the Eiffel Tower. But that’s Holywood, all the good guys are safe, the Spitz are victorious, and all the bad guys seem to be burned. Or so we can deduce…

There remains, however, a small detail that does give some credit to the protagonists, or at least to Jennifer Aniston’s character. Audrey notes that Saira, Vic’s sister, was also involved because of the stain from her henna tattoo that she left behind the night of the kidnapping. Her years as a hairdresser have served to know that henna dries quickly, and thus deduce that she was absent during the entire elephant show. Saira loses her plans and proceeds to try to shoot Vic directly. However, the good old Colonel sacrifices another arm to protect him and Saira is arrested. Nick and Audrey enjoy a bit of Paris by putting their padlock on the Pont des Arts and…

‘Criminals in sight’ Who is the pilot?

Audrey and Nick don’t just get their agency salty. The pilot who took them to the wedding and was unable to pronounce his name without swearing brings them, from Vic, nothing less than a bag with 10 million dollars so they can have a good honeymoon. Not only that, but he also lends his helicopter and its pilot for them to travel with. His first destination is Athens. However, when they are arriving, the pilot drops his thick accent, grabs the bag with the ten million and jumps out of the helicopter. The movie ends with Nick and Audrey trying not to crash and we leave them there.

There will be those who think because the pilot did not steal the money before delivering it to him in Paris. Well, it could be to make them crash and leave all three of them for dead, along with the money. It’s a way to cover their tracks, but who is this pilot? The truth is that we have no clue beyond the European accent that he loses and that, before jumping, he tells them that “actually I’m from New Jersey.” This has led us to think, being the couple from New York, that this criminal may have something to do with Nick’s police past. Of course, the other option is that he was another one of Connor Miller’s moles, but this idea is much more bland.

We have no doubt that a third part of the saga will clear us up.
