With Marvel: Secret Invasion, we have a series that everyone can agree on, and the trailer promises to be heavy

Marvel’s highly anticipated Secret Invasion (not to be confused with Secret Wars, one of the next Avengers movies), its new series for Disney+. La Maison des Idées has decided to slow down with its performances, so much so that it hasn’t put anything on the platform since the disappointment of She-Hulk last summer.

And that’s the new summer date Marvel is offering with Secret Invasion, which airs June 21 on Disney+. The new trailer is clearly appealing with its dark, disturbing and almost different tone from other Disney+ productions.

Amuel L. Jackson is reprising his role as Nick Fury, presumably for the last time, as the video’s end suggests.

The former SHIELD agent seems to be in worse shape than ever. Back on Earth after a short trip to space with friendly Skrulls, he discovers that the planet has been invaded by shapeshifters.

Played by Kingsley Ben-Adir ( The OA ), the character seems to give our heroes a hard time, especially since he has far more powers than just an alien.

But Fury will be able to count on great allies by his side, starting with Captain Marvel’s Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) and War Machine (Don Cheadle) Skrull.

It remains to be confirmed if the characters played by Olivia Colman and Emilia Clarke will be on the good side as the trailer implies.

See you this summer to discover the result on Disney+.
