Dwayne Johnson announces the live-action remake of this Disney animated film

While the live-action version of The Little Mermaid hits our theaters on May 24th and a young Lilo interpreter has been found for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, Disney is already announcing its next live-action film. It is an adaptation of the 2016 animated film Moana, Legend of the End of the World.

And it was Dwayne Johnson, who voices the demigod Maui in John Musker and Ron Clements’ animated film, who made the announcement in a video where he appeared with his two daughters from the Hawaiian island of O’ahu. He states: “We are thrilled and excited to announce that a live-action remake of Moana is in the works (…) We are only at the beginning of the process; There is still a lot of work to be done..”

The actor explains on his Twitter: “I’m honored to announce that we’re bringing the wonderful story of Moana to the big screen! Maui changed my life (I miss my grandpa) and I am honored to partner with Disney to tell our story through music and dance. At heart, who are we as Polynesian people?“.

Rock, who will be producing the film through his company Seven Bucks Productions, is set to play Maui in the feature film, and he already has his giant hook!
