However, on the air of the “Expert in the Chair” podcast, the actress denied these speculations and admitted that she quit due to the fact that the storyline of her character had run its course.

I don’t think Kat’s character has a future, the 26-year-old star said. – I think she could have some development, but not within the framework of this show.

The heroine of Ferreira throughout the show struggles with complexes about being overweight, and chooses a very unusual way to raise self-esteem: she creates an alter ego — a cheeky beauty who wears latex and is not afraid to get naked in front of the camera. Ferreira emphasized that at school she herself was in Kat’s place, and therefore it is quite difficult for her to play such a girl on the screen.

I also wanted to be able to not be a fat best friend. I don’t want to play it and I think they didn’t want it either, she admitted.

Ferreira also noted that she was tired of combining shooting in “Euphoria” with other projects, especially given that, according to Levinson’s idea, her character eventually faded into the background. So her departure from the series was a mutual decision.

Note that earlier insiders said that Levinson behaved unacceptably at the Euphoria site. According to sources, during filming, he yelled at the actors, forcing them to “cry” for greater persuasiveness in the frame. Barbie Ferreira announced her retirement in August 2022.
