Bing Chat will be less bitchy to create content

Bing Chat needs to adopt a more collaborative attitude, instead of refusing to create content without any justification, as is happening in recent days

A Microsoft released an update to make Bing Chat more collaborative. The GPT-4-powered AI tool refused to help some people for no apparent reason, purely on a “whim,” which is why the developers tweaked it to keep the focus utilitarian.

According to Microsoft’s head of advertising and Web services, Mikhail Parakhin, the tool should stop refusing to do some things, such as creating programming codes or writing texts. The statement was released on his official profile on Twitter.

Parakhin explained that Bing Chat v98 will be released in two phases. The first will aim to reduce the number of times the bot refuses to create things. In the second, the goal is to refine engagement to keep conversations consistent.

The release must take place gradually and reach all users, without any type of restriction. The chatbot is therefore expected to adopt a more friendly attitude in the coming days.

Reducing the stubbornness of the AI is a key factor in maintaining interest. Nobody will want to interact with a robot that refuses to produce content, as long as it falls within the legality and ethical standards of the program, of course.

Bing Image Maker is still limited

The executive also took advantage of the space to answer followers’ questions about the AI image maker. OR Bing Image Creator produces visual art from text descriptions.

The biggest problem is that the image maker feels somewhat limited, especially when compared to competitors like Midjourney — which stopped offering free use – AND the promising Adobe Firefly. Parakhin said there has been rapid improvement and assured that the tool is much better today than it was at launch.

It’s good to see that Microsoft is still excited about the possibilities of its “Bing GPT”, because it was responsible for it inflate search engine results in the last two months. Taking advantage of the good moment to profit, the company announced the display of more ads in conversations.

Last week, the Bing has received support for ‘knowledge cards’ created by artificial intelligence. Factsheets 2.0 will present contextual information about searches and display AI-generated ‘Stories’. These innovations should make Microsoft’s search more similar to that of its rival Google.
