Following The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, a new live-action Star Wars series is coming soon to Disney+. This is Ahsoka, a show centered on the character Ahsoka Tano, featured in the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and the animated series of the same name.
The character made a live-action appearance as Rosario Dawson in Season 2 of The Mandalorian, and now he’s eligible for his own series, which Disney just revealed the first teaser for during an exclusive Star Wars Celebration panel in London. From April 7-10.
A spin-off of The Mandalorian produced by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, the Ahsoka series takes place several years after the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.
After the fall of the Empire, a former Jedi Knight and former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker investigates a hidden threat that could upset the fragile balance of a still vulnerable galaxy…
The Ahsoka series is also distinguished by the presence of three iconic characters from the animated series Star Wars: Rebels in their live-action version: the hero Ezra Bridger, played by Eman Esfand, the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, interpreted by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and the Twi’lek Hera Syndula, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead.
In addition, actor Ray Stevenson was chosen to play the Admiral, but not the famous Admiral Thrawn, Ahsoka’s arch-nemesis, and actress Ivana Sakhno plays the actress.
Finally, Hayden Christensen is set to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader after returning to Obi-Wan Kenobi alongside Ewan McGregor.
Lucky fans who made it to Star Wars Celebration got a sneak peek at the first trailer for Ahsoka, which Disney then shared with the rest of the fans.
The fight against the Empire promises to be spectacular, and above all, we discover in these first images the back of Ahsoka’s enemy, Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose translator is still unknown.
The Ahsoka series will be available in August 2023 on Disney+.
