San Paolo beats Tigres-MEX and advances to the final of the Dallas Cup under 19

On Friday evening, the Under 19 team from São Paulo faced Tigres, from Mexico, in the semifinal of the Dallas Cup category, at the Toyota Stadium, in Frisco, Texas (USA), and won by 3 to 2. Newerton ( two times) and Drummond scored Tricolor’s goals.

Thus, the Brazilian team advances to the grand final of the basic tournament and now faces Midtjylland, from Denmark, who eliminated Real Madrid in the other semi-final. The decisive match will take place this Sunday, at 18:30 (Brasilia time), also at the Toyota stadium.

Goals from São Paulo and Tigres

In the first minute of the game, Luiz Henrique passed to Newerton, who struck first, from outside the box, covering the Mexican goalkeeper and scoring a great goal to open the scoring.

Already in the 41st minute of the first half, Edu Brito advanced on the right and crossed low for Drummond. The number 9, only inside the small area, threw himself on the ball to push it to the end of the goal and widen it for San Paolo.

However, it took Tigres just three minutes to come back after half-time and equalized 33 minutes into the second half. Thus, he made the decision to go into overtime, consisting of two ten-minute halves.

In the fifth minute of the second extra time Enzo Boer is overwhelmed in the area and the referee signals a penalty. The Mexican goalkeeper also saved Mateus Manso’s shot, but as he had gone ahead, the referee ordered the shot to be retaken. This time Newerton didn’t waste and scored third, securing the Brazilian victory.
