One of the teachers of the Cantinho Bom Pastor kindergarten, identified as Alaide, suffered a heart attack on Thursday 6 and was admitted to the operating room. The information was forwarded by the institute’s legal adviser to the O Globo newspaper.
Alaide, 60, was one of the teachers present at the time of the attack. He helped save the children.
The teacher had to undergo surgery to insert a catheter into his heart. Doctors say the heart attack may have been triggered by “very severe post-traumatic stress disorder”. Alaide remains hospitalized, but her conditions are stable.
