New Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val April 13 opens the exhibition “Architecture of the World”, where the Russian artist and architect, chief architect of Moscow Sergey Kuznetsov will present a new series of large-format works written in charcoal on cardboard and depicting the architectural structures of St. Petersburg, the Vladimir Region, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Venice, Rome, Florence, Delhi, Istanbul, Bukhara and Baku. But this is not a story about a thorough reproduction of the details of architectural objects, this is about artistic improvisation and about the impressions that we bring with us from travels. All cardboards are combined into an installation by a large-scale architectural structure, and its integrity is given by a unique soundtrack, which was created especially for the exhibition by Russian composer and electronic musician Andrey Antonets (OID).

I propose to plunge into Indian cinema, especially since they have not only stories where they sing and dance, but also plots that are much closer to our reality. 2020 series titled “Scam 1992: The Story of Harshad Mehta”, based on real events, is, of course, not The Wolf of Wall Street, but it is also quite a high-quality story (and a fairly high rating on Kinopoisk is proof of this). While one season has been released in 10 episodes, according to the plot, the enterprising protagonist – a stockbroker, tired of financial failures and a midlife crisis – decides to learn a new profession – teaching stock speculation. By the way, in the ranking of countries with the largest number of billionaires, India ranks third after the USA and China – so they know how to invent stories about greed here!

Australian fantasy released April 6 “Bureau of Magical Services” – a story about ordinary clerks of an unusual firm who unravel strange incidents, look for magical artifacts and, for the sake of promotion, try to do their job well so as not to accidentally plunge the Universe into chaos. It seems to me that we missed the kindly fantastic stories in the style of “Harry Potter” – and this magic, despite the marking 12+, you can go with the whole family and with younger children. Made with quality and passion.

I’m catching up – and I advise everyone, especially fans of detective investigations in the style of stories about Sherlock Holmes and the series “Lie to Me” and “Dexter”. It’s a crime thriller drama “Prodigal son” with Tom Payne (there are already two seasons), in which the main character – criminal psychologist Malcolm Bright – investigates terrible crimes and studies the behavior of maniacs. An interesting nuance: his own father, a former serial killer sentenced to life imprisonment, helps him. Don’t expect stunning ingenious genre finds in terms of the investigations themselves, but the theme of fathers and children, which has again become popular in cinema, is presented in this project from a very unusual angle…
