HBO announces a new series set in the Game of Thrones universe

In addition to announcing the creation of the new Max stream and that of a series of Harry Potter will come true, HBO has revealed the production of another series in the universe of game of Thronescall A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight.

The story will take place a century before the events of the main series, halfway between them game of Thrones AND House of the Dragon. Accompanying Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire, Egg, the story of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is well known to fans of George RR Martin, author of the book series it spawned game of Thrones.

This is because the story of Ser Duncan and Egg, also known as Dunk & Egg, is told in the book The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

According to HBO’s announcement, the series will be executive produced by George RR Martin, Ira Parker, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis.

Discover the synopsis of the new series: A century before the events of game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes roamed Westeros… a naïve but brave young knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg. Set in an age where the Targaryen bloodline still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet been forgotten, great destinies, mighty enemies and perilous adventures await these matchless and unlikely friends.

The drama was one of several prequel ideas in development at HBO, in addition to House of the Dragon. The project, which has gone through several writers, has emerged as a favorite to receive a series order in recent months.

HBO just started production on the second season of House of the Dragon. A Jon Snow spin-off is also in development, and another series centered around the Targaryens and the conquest of Westeros is rumored to be in the works.

It has not been revealed who will be the showrunner of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knightnor cast details or a premiere window for the series.
