Grab your warmest parka as True Detective heads to Alaska for its latest season and its coldest mystery yet. Warner Bros. Discovery released the first trailer for season 4 of “True Detective: Night Country” during the launch of Max, the new streaming service that combines HBO Max and Discovery+, we learn. Deadline.

Jodie Foster and American boxer-turned-actress Callie Reiss lead the investigation in the new installment of the anthology series from creator Nick Pizzolatto. Here is the official summary:When a long winter night descends on Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who run the Tsalali Arctic Research Station disappear without a trace. To solve the case, detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangelina Navarro (Callie Reiss) must confront the darkness they carry and unearth the brutal truths that lie beneath the eternal ice.

The trailer is mostly set in a frozen, sun-drenched Alaska that’s cold enough to chill your bones… or your body. Detectives close in on a crime scene where eight missing men are seen taking off their shoes before stepping into the snow.

However, the freezing temperatures do not cool the investigators, real hotheads and who form an antagonistic duo. Tensions rise between them as they must team up for this delicate task. There are also plenty of frozen bodies, broken ice, and mysterious painted symbols.

The first season of True Detective already had a very good poster with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in 2014, followed by a second season with Taylor Kitsch, Rachel McAdams and Colin Farrell the following year. The third season was released in 2019 with the participation of Mahershala Ali.

Pending Max’s arrival in France, the HBO series is available on Prime Video with Warner Pass.
