Netizens weren’t too happy about Jorge Sampaoli taking over the team
The announcement made by Flamengo earlier this Friday evening, the 14th, took part of the web by surprise. The team gave up waiting George Jesus and chosen George Sampaoli as new coach. The coach arrives in the same week as Portuguese coach Vítor Pereira was sacked.
“Club de Regatas do Flamengo announces that it has signed an agreement with coach Jorge Sampaoli to manage the professional football team until December 31, 2024,” the club wrote on its Twitter profile.
While some celebrated, many took to social media to complain about the club’s decision, which ended up generating a wave of angry memes.
