It is a glider boat, while the previous one was a displacement. This changes a lot in sailing. She is a very fast boat and sensitive to any type of regulation,” Berdasco said.

And the transition from a slower sailing boat, a Skipper 30, to a racing Carabelli 30, took place in an unusual way.

“At the start of last year’s Toque-Toque regatta we changed boards to VIA Italia, a C30. In one of the maneuvers we almost hit them, we were under a lot of pressure, with the boat anchored. talk to their captain, he apologized. for the maneuver and we were watching the boat. They instigated us: “you have to sail a glider boat”. And as a bonus, we were offered the C30. We have strengthened it a lot,” added Jorge.

Classes C30, RGS-C, Bico de Proa (categories A, B and C) and Multihulls will compete in the Toque-Toque Regatta by Starboard with 25 nautical miles, and Renato Frankenthal – for HPE25 only – with 10 nautical miles.

The event includes up to 12 races for the C30 and HPE 25 one-design classes and ten for the others. The competition will open with the Alcatrazes by Starboard regatta. Throughout the week, the organization will organize regattas according to sea and wind conditions, which can take place on the São Sebastião Channel or on the north and south lanes of the island. There will be three types: long, medium and barla-sota (between the buoys).
