The future is full of events for George, tomorrow is ours!
Introduced at the CANNESERIES festival, Mayel Elhajaoui, the translator of Georges Caron, the chief of the scientific police in the TF1 daily series, entrusted the microphone to Allocine about the evolution of his character, the love story of Victoire. (Solène Hébert) and Vanessa’s upcoming trial (Victoire Douxerre).
Alocine: Going back to The Adventures of Tomorrow, what attracted you to the role of Georges?
Mayel Elhajaoui : A character with a lot of tenderness and awkwardness. Qualities that I really appreciate in real life. It’s true, I like George’s tenderness. And then, he’s a good person. He’s a good guy in aspects that we can say he’s less good than others. But it’s good that you weren’t good at everything.
How do you see the evolution of your character since coming to the series?
When he arrived, he was eating burgers and pouring samurai sauce on investigative cases. Today, he has three-piece suits, a cane at Dr. House in Bled, he’s head of PTS, restaurant tickets, and thirteen months. The boy is on his head (laughs). It has the advantage of luxury, and Georges Caron came first, alas, by bicycle (laughs). Now he’s a director, and that changes everything for Georges Caron.
At heart, we thought Georges and Victoire were going to give each other a second chance. Is this what we hope for?
Love is the only thing you should never give up on. I mean really everyone in real life and in fiction. Always have hope in love. If you don’t have hope, it’s because you don’t love. Will something happen to Victoire? I do not know…
Can we still hope to see her love?
Yes. I think he is a guy who deserves to find love and will find love. But as with any love story, it gets a little abstract at times.
Police are currently investigating the Argentail monster and Lisa’s behavior (Naima Rodrich) asks questions from colleagues. What can you tell us about that and specifically the role that Georges will play in all of this?
The authors write quite realistic things. When you’re friends and working with someone you trust, it’s not that easy. In life, when you trust, there is a kind of filter. We don’t see some things that others see. George has the utmost confidence in Lisa. He may have a few doubts at times, but his confidence doesn’t drop like that. He’s not going to tell himself that he’s hiding something. Therefore, the sequel will cause some twists and turns, and Georges, like everyone else, will suffer a little.
Finally we see a very small George and Mona (Catherine Benguig) act together. Will they have more scenes in the future?
Yes. There are beautiful scenes that I just shot elsewhere that are coming. Every time I play my Mamunet, as I say, it’s a joy. Catherine Benguig acts as if she were my mother and I recognize her as if she were my mother. There are some scenes with the spoon, the police station, and other pretty cool places. We’re asking for it, and the authors are listening. TF1 channel is also very satisfied with this relationship. Then, like in real life, Mona and Georges don’t necessarily see each other every day, but yes, we miss him on screen, we miss him too, but he will be back.
With funny characters like Georges and Mona, I imagine there were a lot of laughs on set. Are there any in particular that come to mind?
Before coming to the Chancery yesterday. There’s someone we really like from the production who came to the set to go to Cannes at the end of the shoot. This is something that stresses Catherine a bit. He kissed the scenes and we left laughing. At 9 o’clock in the morning we used to have bouillabaisse. He hit me in the face and said:It stinks, it’s 9 o’clock in the morning“You can’t see it, but we have real bouillabaisse under our noses.
After all these years, we still know very little about George’s father. Are the writers planning to bring him into the series?
This is what we are talking about, yes. Potentially a secret aunt or brother too. That’s what’s good about this series is that we can bring a natural evolution. Authors can be trusted. Georges’ father or other members of the Caron family are pipes. Now they decide when.
In general, what awaits Georges in the sequel to tomorrow’s movie Belongs to Us?
It is a big plot. Vanessa’s trial is approaching. This will surely have important and personal consequences for Georges. She will ask herself a lot of questions, wondering if they were manipulating her or if they really loved her. He’s really going to question himself.
Who can hope in this trial?
Victoria and Mona will be by his side. George is still an introvert. He keeps certain things deep. may explode. George experiences incredible things.
Do you have any other projects besides Owning Tomorrow?
A series on France 2, A l’instinct, which is now officially in development. I also have my own show, Mayel in real life. I will soon be playing in Toulouse, Six Four les Plages, Lille and Sète in the coming weeks. Then at the beginning of the school year I will play in Paris.
