Tonight on TV: The director of LOL once again captures the spirit of the times

After an early career in the world of finance, Lisa Azuelos turned to filmmaking. The environment where he meets the future father of three children: Carmen, Ilan and Tais.

In 2009, LOL, his third feature film, was a huge commercial success, attracting 3.6 million cinemagoers. Hosted by Sophie Marceau and Christa Terrett, it is inspired by the director’s personal experience with his eldest son, who has become a teenager, and thus deals with the mother-daughter relationship with precision.

Ten years later, Lisa Azuelos signs a new variation on this theme with Mon Bébé. Also based on her experience, the film features Heloise, a single mother of three struggling to cope with her youngest son’s departure to Canada. She is also his real younger daughter, Thais Alessandrinewho interprets this character on screen.

Opposite her, Sandrine Kiberlen excels as the disoriented mother (perhaps because she recognizes a bit of herself in her, at a time when her own daughter is about to fly). Thus, the actress was awarded the prize for female interpretation at the Alpe d’Huez comedy festival.
