The Young and the Restless: Which TV star is hiding behind the silhouette at the end of the credits?

In 2023, the American TV series Les Feux de l’amour celebrates its 50th anniversary! The worldwide cult series owes its popularity to iconic characters and crazy and entertaining storylines. But another point also contributes to the glory of fiction: its credits.

The iconic titles of “Fires de l’amour”.

authorized Nadia’s theme And composed by Barry de Vorzon and Perry Botkin, Jr., this catchy piano piece resonates in every viewer’s mind at the mere mention of the program’s name!

However, over the years, the introduction to The Young and the Restless (where Shemar Moore is returning soon!) has changed quite a bit. At first, only pictures of actors’ faces followed each other on the screen. Images of the actors panting towards the camera, hair in the wind, and in slow motion were then offered.

Another more intense version of the title was attempted in the early 2000s… but the original song returned in 2003. That year, the credits ended with a silhouette of a woman appearing against the light, moving forward. To the audience…

Michelle Stafford credits silhouette!

In the United States, this sequence was recently broken, as a new version of the credits was offered as a gift to the faithful in connection with the 50th anniversary of the fire of love. In France, the famous silhouette continues to be presented on TF1 due to the three-year gap between the French and US broadcasts.

But did you know that this silhouette actually belonged to one of the stars of the series? Indeed, it was Michelle Stafford, aka Phyllis, who appeared at the end of every episode of “The Young and the Restless” for the past twenty years!

Amazing mistake…

Here’s the whole story: During the photo shoot, photographers took pictures of the actors, including several of Michelle Stafford on foot. After that, one of the photographers asked the actors to go towards him in a sensual way, wearing silk dresses…

Except Michelle Stafford accidentally got her head cut off during recruitment! But during editing, the soap teams finally liked the shot and so decided to keep it for the closing credits of Fire of Love (Bryton James (Devon) confides in AlloCiné about his journey)! An anecdote (almost) without a tail… or without a head.
