The vacation time has already come for Max Lieberman and his friend Inspector Oscar Reinhardt.
Launched two weeks ago on France 3, the new second season of the British-Austrian detective series Les Carnets de Max Liebermann (Vienna Blood en VO) ends this evening at the end of the third and final investigation called “Traps Darkness”.
From the novels of Frank Talisse, created by Stephen Thompson, the notebooks of Max Lieberman, whose atmosphere is somewhere between Sherlock and the aliens, take us to Vienna in the early 20th century.
Max Liebermann (Matthew Bird), a brilliant physician who studied with renowned psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud, joins forces with Oscar Reinhardt (Jürgen Maurer), an Austrian police inspector, to help him solve the most difficult cases.
In the final episode of Season 2, which airs today at 9:10 p.m., on France 3, Max and his father witness a dispute between Brother Stanislav and Isaac, brother of Jonah Korngold, during a conference at the Historical Society.
Isaac accuses the monk of dangerous fanaticism and in his words encourages anti-Semitic actions. A few days later a monk was found beaten in the monastery hall. Could Isaac have killed him before? That’s what Max and Oscar will try to figure out.
Next week, Les Carnets de Max Liebermann France 3 will host a new episode of the German TV series Commissaire Dupin. But fear not, the adventures of Max Lieberman will soon be back on screen for a new batch of episodes.
In February, ORF, ZDF, and BBC Two, which aired the series in Austria, Germany, and the United Kingdom, actually ordered Season 3, which is yet to consist of three 90-minute episodes, and will clearly feature the main cast. Returned to their characters.
Information about these new polls or their release dates has not yet been filtered. Because of Covid, English fans have had to wait two years between the two seasons, as the first Zalvo was scheduled to air on BBC Two in November 2019, and the second aired only in December 2021.
But this time it is possible that this third season will be ready by the end of the year. And that it will be released on France 3 in 2023, after the duplication has taken place.
