Paramount Pictures, in partnership with the Greta app, announced it will provide accessibility features for its releases, aiming to provide universal access to films in its catalog, including in theaters.
Technologies, available in Portuguese dubbed or subtitled versions, include:
This novelty was implemented in January with the film Babylon and leaned forward in terror Panic VI. In April, viewers can take advantage of these features by watching Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among the Rebelshit theaters last week.
In addition to the resources already mentioned, the public also has a complete schedule of times and close sessions, without the need for an internet connection. Each user can download all the files relating to the film he will watch at home and use the application in airplane mode inside the cinemas. Synchronization is done using the film’s audio recognition technology.
The Greta application is available for Android and iOS, and it is also possible to test the functions, based on a trailer about the company, presented in German on YouTube. OR passed the film audio recognition technology test.
To do this, we access the Greta Application Test option and play the indicated trailer on a different device, with the sound turned up. It is necessary to authorize the application access to the microphone of the smartphone. Quickly, the app recognized the moment the video was at and played the subtitles synchronously.

In addition to the test, the application contains files of the mentioned films — Babylon, Panic VI AND Dungeons & Dragons — which can be downloaded via an on-screen button, becoming available while watching the film in theatres.
For César Silva, vice president and general manager of Paramount Pictures Brasil, this partnership with Greta is an important step towards the accessibility of the distributor’s content in the country.
Paramount believes that cinema should be available to everyone. To make this experience possible and simplify access, we looked for a technology that was the most complete. It is a crucial step and must be a priority for the entire sector. We hope and continue to work that the agenda advances and the solutions made available by us and exhibitors become popular so that cinema is enjoyable and inclusive entertainment for all audiences.
