Flamengo beat Ñublense-CHI and recovered in the Libertadores. The Rossoneri proved useful in the debut of coach Jorge Sampaoli.
The highlight of the match was striker Pedro, who scored both goals for Flamengo. The player reached 18 goals in the competition for the club from Rio de Janeiro and surpassed Zico.
“It is a great privilege to surpass a boy who is Flamengo’s biggest idol. I am very honored by this achievement. I hope I can score more goals and make more history for the club,” he said.

Furthermore, the striker underlined the importance of winning after stumbling on his debut.
“Very important. We know the importance of the three points. We lost in the first leg. But we also know the quality that our team has and we can do much more than what we had presented. Now, with a new coach, I’m sure that we will grow,” he said.
Flamengo returns to the field for Libertadores on May 4, against Racing-ARG, in Buenos Aires.
