Brie Larson’s new series gets first teaser

Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for “Lessons in Chemistry,” a series starring Brie Larson (“Captain Marvel”). The drama is based on the bestselling novel “A Question of Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus and will be released in the second half of 2023.

The series tells the story of Elizabeth Zott, a 1950s scientist who is prevented from continuing her scientific career due to male chauvinism. After being fired from her lab, she takes a job hosting a TV cooking show. But instead of showcasing the recipes, she aims to show a nation of neglected housewives—and men attuned—that the status quo can be changed, while she longs to return to the lab.

In just 44 seconds, the trailer shows Elizabeth as a scientist interacting with Lewis Pullman’s character (“Top Gun: Maverick”) – her romantic partner – and former presenter of the show “Supper at Six”.

Also appearing in the series are Aja Naomi King (“The Birth of a Nation”), Stephanie Koenig (“The Flight Attendant”), Kevin Sussman (“The Big Bang Theory”), Patrick Walker (“Gaslit”) and Thomas Mann (” Project X”).

In addition to starring in the drama, Brie Larson is also an executive producer, alongside Academy Award nominee Susannah Grant on “Erin Brockovich.” The adaptation was made by Lee Eisenberg (“The Office”), who is also the showrunner.

There is no premiere date yet.
