The American Society of Cinematographers re-elected President Stephen Lighthill

Stephen Lighthill was re-elected President of the American Society of Cinematographers for the third year in a row.

The ASC also elected or re-elected Vice Presidents Amy Vincent, John Simmons and Shelley Johnson; Treasurer Stephen poster; Secretary Greg Hashong; And Sergeant Chris Chomin. Board members also include Kurt Clark, Richard Crudo, Steven Fierberg, Michael Goy, Ed Lachman, Patti Lee, Charlie Lieberman, Lowell Peterson, Lawrence Sherry, John Tolly and Robert Yeoman. Alternate board members include John Bailey, Eric Stelberg, Jim Deno, Patrick Cody and Dana Gonzalez.

“As an organization, we are focused on education, continuous improvement of safety practices, and further expansion of our diversity and mutual understanding efforts,” said Lighthill. “The past year has brought many issues to our community and we are proud of how our members have tackled these challenges as we continue to take the story to new places.”

Lighthill is a professor in the Department of Cinematography at the American Film Conservatory, and his titles include television dramas. Vietnam War History, Earth 2, s Nash bridges. He was a member of the National Executive Board of the International Union of Cinematographers (IATSE Local 600). In 2018 he received the ASC Presidents Award; And in 2000 the Presidential Award of the Society of Operators Operators.
