In less than two months, The Flash will finally be here! Plagued by changes in directors and/or screenwriters, the pandemic, Warner’s turmoil and the failure of its lead actor Ezra Miller, the world’s fastest man film has suffered a major setback in “Ignition.”
Entrusted by Andy Muschietti (ES), a DC feature film inspired by the brilliant comic book “Smile” It will hit our theaters on June 14th, and a new trailer has arrived to mark this, while CinemaCon (an international cinema convention held in Los Angeles) was able to discover the film.
Images that, overall, are a bit different from the images that were shown during the SuperBowl last February. There are two versions of Barry Allen, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton’s Batman, and no Superman on the horizon except for Supergirl, played by Sasha Kele. Because the hero wants to use his powers to change the past (and prevent his mother’s murder), he has changed the present and created temporal paradoxes.
Like Spider-Man: No Way Home, The Flash seems to want to connect the characters on an emotional level, with mourning as a constituent and common element, in addition to slipping in some references to Tim Burton’s Batman, thanks to The Return. Michael Keaton in costume, three decades after his second and final opus.
after him “I’m Batman” Facing the camera in the first trailer, the actor repeats a slightly sharper line from the 1989 film: It “Want to play crazy? Let’s play.” Expressed against the Joker It was intended for Jack Nicholson at the time and, no doubt, for Barry Allen today. And the silhouette of his plane on the moon in the final image will bring back fond memories for many.
If there’s any reason to be optimistic after these two trailers, it’s always the same question: Who will be the film’s true big bad? Ten years after Man of Steel in Zod, Michael Shannon admitted that his presence was less than we might imagine, suggesting that he would not be the main antagonist.
Will this Michael Keaton Batman end up being more tortured than the trailer shows? Unlikely, as the character was going to return in a Batgirl movie before she was turned into trash. The most plausible hypothesis would be that the second Barry goes to the dark side and becomes the Reverse-Flash, one of the sworn enemies of the hero.
And it would make sense for the first Flash movie to pit him against one of his iconic adversaries. All indications are that Warner has kept a few cards and will only release them in the darkrooms in June.
