Recently, the 11th annual CinemaCon convention was held in Las Vegas, which was attended by representatives of leading studios to interest cinema chains in their new films. At the event, Paramount announced that Rihanna will voice Smurfette in the new untitled Smurfs film. The release of the tape will take place on February 14, 2025.
We are thrilled to have found our Smurfette in one of the most loved stars in the world,” said Brian Robbins, President and CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon.
The artist will not only voice the “blue villain”, but will also act as a producer, as well as write and perform songs. The animated film will be directed by Chris Miller, who directed Shrek 3 and the first part of Puss in Boots. Matt Landon, who edited The Little Prince, will co-direct. The script will be written by Pam Brady, who worked on South Park.

I tried to get the role of Papa Smurf, but nothing came of it, the celebrity joked from the stage.
Rihanna is not the first star to play the role of Smurfette. Katy Perry voiced the character in the 2011 film The Smurfs. Then in “The Smurfs: The Lost Village” in 2017, she was played by Demi Lovato.
Recall that Rihanna, who gave birth to her first child less than a year ago, is preparing to become a mother again. The singer declassified her second pregnancy during a grandiose performance at the Super Bowl. This was a real surprise not only for the fans, but also for the singer’s father, who found out about her situation while watching. Now Ri is increasingly publishing photos of his son, and also regularly goes out with him. She recently hinted at the baby’s gender, leaving fans to speculate that the pop star might be expecting a girl.
