Between Harry Potter and One Punch Man, MASHLE anime immerses you in a magical and over-the-top world

for its extraordinary history

Mash Burnedead, 15, doesn’t like anything else. In a world where magic is everywhere, mastered by all, she is the only one who is deprived of it at birth. Raised in the forest by his adoptive father, he is protected from a society where his peculiarity is a crime punishable by death. To compensate for his natural weakness, Masha has only one obsession: bodybuilding!

Going around town against her father’s advice in search of the delicious custard cookies she loves, an agent from the Magic Office discovers her lack. Faced with these elite forces, Masha has no choice: she must prove herself worthy of life, despite her flaws, to join the Easton Academy of Magic and become the best student, a divine vision.

For a clever mix of enchantment, combat and humor

As you can see from reading these few lines, MASHLE manages to combine many elements that at first glance seemed opposite.

First, the humor and action characteristic of many types of manga Neketsu (One Piece, My Hero Academia, One-Punch Man). A true glutton obsessed with whipped cream, Mash Burnedead is a hero as atypical as he is hilarious. If the lack of power makes it attractive and unique, it is far from abandoned to fate. Every day he devotes hours to strengthening his muscles, especially his pecs, which he colloquially calls Kevin and Mike.

These eccentricities will make you smile, but they actually reveal his depth Mashle, hiding under a comical and light veneer. While Neketsu heroes usually have to learn to control their extraordinary powers, Aries must come to terms with his lack of it and find ways to prove himself without the skills necessary to achieve his goal. As original as it is inspiring, its quest is all the more flavorful.

Adding to this perfect mix of humor and combat is a magical setting as original as it clearly takes inspiration from the world of Harry Potter: magical schools, wands, uniforms and distribution in houses… a real advantage MashleThis artfully evoked (and distorted!) fantasy allows you to increase the originality slider to 100%.

Full of magic to realize it

After Black Butler, Fairy Tail and Sword Art Online, animation studio A-1 Pictures is back for a new adaptation. Directed by Tomoya Tanaka (Engage Kiss, Visual Prison), TV series Mashle Much is due to its equally vibrant and varied color palette, which emphasizes the richness of its magical world.

Whether lifting ghosts at the speed of light or experiencing the most powerful spells, action scenes stand out because of their precision and dynamism.

In terms of dubbing, the quality is there too, and viewers will be delighted to find the voices of some famous seiyuu in the original version: Chiaki Kobayashi (Hell Heaven title) as Masha, but also the famous Kaito Ishikawa ( Genos One hit man), Reiji Kawashima (Patrick and Ricky from Shadows House), Takuya Eguchi (Shouji Hanma from Tokyo Revengers), Reina Ueda (Ruri from Dr.Stone), and Yuichiro Umehara (Mars from Black Clover).
