Singer Preta Gil revealed on Sunday (4/30) that she has entered a new phase of her treatment for bowel cancer, discovered earlier this year. On social media, she was hopeful about the next step.
In a video, Preta said she traveled to São Paulo to meet the surgeon and other professionals responsible for her case. The singer should start radio and oral chemotherapy sessions in the next few days.
“I am very excited, very hopeful and very confident that this treatment will be successful and that, at the end of this road, there is a cure waiting for me,” said the artist.
Hence, Preta Gil has promised to bring news whenever she feels good. “[É] to show you that I’m fine. It has been a very good week, once again I have taken very important steps towards recovery,” she continued.
In January, Preta Gil experienced severe pain in her abdomen before undergoing tests at a referral hospital in Rio. The results indicated bowel cancer and the artist needed to start treatment immediately.
