This is a quiz dedicated to the trade of film titles that has been offered on May 1st, International Workers’ Day, since 1889. Here are some examples of movies that you can find in this quiz, but which of course are not. not visible
When we talk about this topic, one of the first examples that comes to mind is Martin Scorsese’s 70’s classic: Taxi Driver.
The story of taxi driver Travis Bickle, a sleepless and lonely young man who spends his nights walking the streets of New York, celebrating the decay and disintegration of the world and society he feels increasingly excluded from. It is his encounter with Iris, a young prostitute, that gives Travis hope as he decides to save her by escaping the pimp’s clutches.
Another example from the same decade of the 70’s, with a film, admittedly less known, but which would later be a reference for several directors: Walter Hill’s Driver. The story of a lonely man, nicknamed “The Driver” (Ryan O’Neill, Kubrick’s Barry Lyndon), who becomes a master of the art of robbing cops during bank robberies. A pitch that certainly echoes the drive Nicolas Winding Refn would generate thirty years later.
Finally, still in the “jobs in the headlines” category, we can highlight the 90s romance between Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston in Bodyguard. A film that would ultimately survive the decades largely thanks to its planetary hit I will always love you.
There are still plenty of examples, and in this quiz you’ll find eight more, some of which aren’t obvious despite the suggestions that accompany each question. Depends on you !
