It’s no longer a secret since the trailer was released in February, just outside the SuperBowl: General Zod (Michael Shannon), who died at the end of Man of Steel, will be returning to cinemas in The Flash thanks to magic. Multiple universes and alternate realities.
A few weeks after explaining that the return surprised him when it was offered – which gives him a huge common ground with the audience – the actor went back to his hesitation before agreeing to return. And the importance of Zack Snyder in this case.
“I hesitated because I wasn’t very happy with what happened to Zack Snyder in this story.”he explains in the podcast UselessReferred to the director being fired from his DC film, then coming back with a longer version.
“And I love Zach. Because he’s already asked me to do the role — probably the biggest surprise of my career. And I thought it was a joke. I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’
ZOD, The Flash’s big villain?
“Zack, to his credit, was very understanding. He gave his blessing and I went to film. Andy . I loved working with him. These two are super creative people.”
However, Michael Shannon does not answer one of the questions raised before the trailers: will Zod be the main villain of the film? Or are we hiding something? We’ll probably have to wait until the release on June 14th in France to get the answer.
