Fake News PL should be voted on this Tuesday (2) in the Chamber, after the deputies approved the matter’s urgency regime last Tuesday (25).
After reports of a campaign promoted by internet search platforms and social networks against the Fake News Bill (PL 2630/20), the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flavio Dinoposted on Twitter, that the department will investigate the possible occurrence of abusive practices by companies.
I am submitting the question to the analysis of the National Secretariat of Consumers, an agency of the Ministry of Justice, in consideration of the possibility of configuration of abusive practices by companies. https://t.co/amkQe57ffc

In making the announcement on his official account, the minister shared a publication from the anti-disinformation organization Sleeping Giants Brasil, according to which the Google company would “using the platform itself to attack the PL and Twitter logging out of people’s accounts to get in the way.”
Administrative inquiry
the senator Randolph Rodriguez (Rede-AP) wrote, on Twitter, that he will request the opening of an investigation with the Economic Defense Board (Cade), “for possible violation of the economic order (L. 12.529/12) for abuse of a dominant position”. “I will ask Cade, as a precautionary measure, to remove the content, to refrain from repeating similar practices and to set a penalty of the maximum value of 20% of gross receipts, in addition to the precautionary freezing of Google bank accounts,” he added.
vote
Fake News PL should be voted on this Tuesday (2) in the Chamber, after the deputies approved the matter’s urgency regime last Tuesday (25). Doubts remain, however, as to whether there is consensus among party leaders for the issue to actually be put to a vote.
The rapporteur, deputy Orlando Silva (PCdoB-SP), also accused the big tech companies of “dirty actions” against the project that seeks to regulate social networks in the country. The statement was given to journalists in São Paulo, after the traditional act of union centers for Labor Day, in Vale do Anhangabaú. “I’ve never seen so much filth in a political dispute. Google, for example, uses its majority power in the market to broaden the range of anti-project positions and narrow pro-project positions”said the deputy.
There is still no response from Google on this.
