Pedro Bial opens the game on Linha Direta

Linha Direta returns to Globo after 16 years with Pedro Bial at the helm of the program: ‘We have an enormous number of journalists’

Looking for inspiration from similar “true crime” genres on American TV, about real crimes, Direct line will return to the small screen of Globo. The show originally debuted in 1990 and after a 9-year hiatus, it returned in 1999 with Marcello Rezende. Domingos Meirelles also presented the hit ratings, which aired until 2007.

Now, the program will return to small screens with Pedro Bial in command this Thursday 04/05. The host opened the game and talked about his team of hosts and how the show has evolved over the decades it has been on the air.

Pedro Bial talks about the evolution of the program:

“We have a huge amount of journalists, and not just people with the tools of investigative journalism, but also people who are fluent in documentary language, which is a language that has evolved a lot over the past two decades.” the host tells Gshow. The first case will recall the kidnapping and death of Eloá Pimentel, in 2008, after her ex-boyfriend Lindemberg Alves invaded the apartment of the 15-year-old ABC Paulista teenager.
