Flamengo doesn’t have a good season. Therefore, the pressure for the arrival of reinforcements has increased in recent weeks.
The name that began to circulate was that of defensive midfielder Fernando. The player is currently in Antalyaspor, Turkey.
Executive director Bruno Spindel confirmed the midfielder had been offered to the club, but denied any deal with the player.
“He was offered like many other players. Basically that was it. The athlete the club was interested in in the January window, everyone knows, was Mateus Uribe, but that didn’t materialise,” he said.
The tendency is for Flamengo to go to the transfer market looking for reinforcements mid-season. A right-back, a defensive midfielder and a midfielder are the priorities in Jorge Sampaoli’s squad.
