Ghostedthe new movie starring Chris Evans and Ana de Armas, has set a new record for Apple TV+.
As reported Deadlinethe love and action film has become the streaming service’s most watched exclusive to date, with 328,500 viewers in the first two days after its premiere last week (April 21).
The figures of Ghosted outshine those of other Apple TV+ movies, such as finch (228,500), Spirited (174,000) or Tetris (88,000), and the completion rate of the film is 20% higher than the average rate of other projects on the platform
The film, directed by Dexter Fletcher, tells the story of Cole Turner (Evans) as he journeys across the world with super-spy Sadie Rhodes (de Armas) after spending the night together.
Fletcher, who has also recently directed Eddie the Eagle and Rocket manhas confessed that he was the object of a prank by Evans, who locked him in the trunk of a car.
“Yeah, Evans closed the trunk and locked me in there for three minutes while everyone milled outside and laughed,” he said. “I knew it was going to happen inevitably, and they thought it would be fun… It was probably 30 seconds, but it felt like a lifetime to me. But it’s fun, right?”
Evans, protagonist of the franchise of the Captain America, spoke before the premiere that there would be cameos from some of his Marvel castmates, saying the following: “There are some cameos, that’s right. Can we fast-forward? I guess so. We have some old Marvel mates back, but I hate asking people to do cameos, it’s the worst,” he continued. “If it fits their schedule I guess they will but these guys were up to the challenge and they were there for me – it was great.”
