“Super Mario Bros. O Filme” arrived in Brazil on April 6 and launching so quickly on on-demand rental services is unusual. This could be a response to the leaks that the film has gone through.
A few days after the premiere, the feature film was screened in its entirety on the Argentine channel GenTV. The exhibition took place illegally, but it was not a film recording, but a version in good quality and definition.
As if this leak wasn’t enough, “Super Mario Bros.” it was also posted in full on Twitter last weekend. The film was divided into two parts, but it didn’t take long for users of the social network to access them: the videos went viral and were watched by thousands of people.

Directed by Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, the film follows plumbers known as Mario and Luigi, who get sucked from Brooklyn into the mystical Mushroom Kingdom. Together with Princess Peach, they prepare to stop the mighty Bowser from total domination.
