Online cinema KION is preparing for the premiere of a new military melodrama directed by Olga Muzaleva “Spreading the Wings”, the main roles in which were played by Katerina Shpitsa, Alexander Gorbatov, Mikhail Troinik and Sergey Puskepalis, who died in an accident in September last year. The picture is based on the story of the combat pilot Anna Petrova. The film will be screened exclusively at KION on May 8th.

In fact, “Spreading Your Wings” is a film about a woman whose young years and first feelings came at a very harsh time. This is a picture about youth and about the tragic losses that one way or another the contemporaries of the heroine and herself had to face.

The story takes place in 1943. Anna Petrova is a combat pilot who received a severe spinal injury after the enemy shot down her plane. She returned to the rear and works as a chief engineer at an aircraft factory, where new Krecheta aircraft are being prepared for testing. The management of the plant, not knowing about the consequences of her injury, instructs Anna, together with Major Zotov, to overtake the prototype of the Krechet to the front for combat testing.

In addition to the desire to defeat the enemy and return home, Anna also pursues a personal goal. She is determined to get even with Major Briggel, the German pilot of the Black Messer, who killed her lover. Despite the harsh time, hard trials, inner pain and bitterness of loss, overcoming the desire to avenge those who were lost, Anna and Zotov open up to each other …
