Lula celebrates the end of the Covid emergency and criticizes Bolsonaro’s “denial government”.

The World Health Organization has declared the end of the Covid-19 health emergency after three years of a pandemic

President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva commented this Friday, 5, on the end of the health emergency from Covid-19. Through social networks, the representative recalled that the pandemic is not over yet and asked that the population continue to be vaccinated against the disease. He also criticized what he called a “denial government”, referring to the handling of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL)

“Despite the end of the state of emergency, the pandemic is not over yet. Take booster shots and make sure you always have a comprehensive vaccination schedule. And the federal government will encourage health, science and research in our country to preserve lives “, wrote the president on Twitter.

In another post, Lula said that half of Brazil’s 700,000 fatalities could have been saved, were it not for Bolsonaro’s “denial government”.

“After 3 years, today we can finally say that we have come out of the health emergency caused by Covid-19. Unfortunately, Brazil has passed the threshold of 700,000 deaths from the virus. And I believe that at least half of the lives could have been saved if not we had a denial government,” he said in another post.

The state of international health emergency for covid-19 ended this Friday 5, after three years of pandemic, decreed on January 30, 2020. The World Health Organization (WHO) was responsible for the decision.
