Two men were killed in a clash with the Military Brigade around 20:30 this Saturday (6), in the neighborhood of Bom Jesus, east of Porto Alegre. According to information from the Civil Police, the suspects were under investigation for a series of robberies in the neighborhood.
The men were aboard a stolen white Fiat Punto on Rua Sinval Saldanha when they were approached by military police, Chief Arthur Reguse said. During the approach, one of the suspects died at the scene and the other was sent for medical treatment to the Hospital de Pronto Socorro (HPS), but could not sustain his wounds.
Inside the car, police found at least five cell phones that had been stolen between Friday (5) and Saturday. According to the delegate, the two had robbed pedestrians and passengers of other cars in the region. So far, two phones have been returned to their respective owners. No police officers were injured in the operation. The delegate specifies that the identification of the suspects can only be confirmed after the outcome of the expert report.
