In the world of French comedy in the 1970s, a new face and a new name appeared on the big screen: Pierre Richard. The young actor from burlesque and cutting his teeth in Parisian cabarets had certainly already made a few film appearances in the late 1960s, most notably in Yves Robert’s Alexandre le bienheureux with Philippe Noiret, but that’s about it. A decade that would expose him to the wider public.
A fruitful decade, during which the young actor will shoot at least sixteen feature films. In between, he would team up with Yves Robert for two huge successes with Le Grand Blond The Black Shoes and its sequel Le Retour du Grand Blond, making his first film under Francis Weber (Letoy), a director he would reunite with. In the 80s, Gerard Depardieu will go behind the camera for three films and also four times.
Louis de Funes, on the other hand, is clearly not his first attempt, he was already one of the biggest French stars on the big screen at the dawn of the 70s. The public had already had the opportunity to enjoy his escapades and mimics. The popular successes of La Grande Vadrouille, Le Corniaud, Hibernatus or even the Gendarme and Fantômas franchises.
But the actor is still full of energy and this decade has seen great new successes with Claude Zide’s The Wing or Thigh, or La Folie des Grandeurs and The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob, both signed by Gerard Ours.
Therefore, it is a quiz dedicated to these two comedy stars that we present. We describe a situation that happened to one of the two actors in their film, but which two? It’s up to you to make the right choice!
