After a show in Rio, Alicia Keys closed her 2023 passage in Brazil with a second performance in the country, but this time in São Paulo, at the Allianz Parque, this Friday night (4).

Just like in Rio de Janeiro two days earlier, the 42-year-old New Yorker performed an emotional duet with the Brazilian Iza. The partnership was on the track “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)”, followed by “Dona de Mim”, which Alicia insisted give a straw in Portuguese to the 21,000 fans who went to the stadium in west São Paolo.

A night of great classics

The dynamic and infectious one hour and fifty minute show is part of the “Alicia + Keys World Tour”, an interesting mix of songs from the albums “Alicia” (2020) and “Keys” (2021) with old hits.

The opening was with the song “Nat King Cole”, which was accompanied by such hits as “You Don’t Know My Name”, “My Boo”, “Empire State of Mind”, “Girl on Fire”, ” No One” and “If I Ain’t Got You”, which closed out the night.

During the evening, the R&B diva squandered the public’s sympathy and alternated her talent both simply on vocals and sitting at the piano. Fan interaction and tokens of love also permeated the evening. “I love you” and “San Paolo makes me feel at home” were some of the phrases spoken by the singer.

She surprised and confused the audience when she appeared in a structure at the end of the track to sing songs like “Skydive”, “It Is Insane” and “Only You”. To get back onstage, during “Empire State of Mind,” she walked a path set up through the seated audience—a relatively strange setup for a show like this.

By the way, in “Empire State of Mind”, which she records in collaboration with rapper Jay Z, Alicia gives people an incentive not to give up on their dreams.

Anyone who went to Allianz was certainly able to witness a great show.
