‘The Lincoln Lawyer’: Will there be a second season on Netflix?

The end of the first season of ‘The Lincoln Lawyer’ leaves no doubt about his intention to continue with the story. For those of you who need a quick reminder: with some very spot-on arguments, Mickey gets Trevor (Christopher Gorham) found not guilty at trial for the cold-blooded murder of his wife Lara and her lover, Jan. . To the lawyer’s surprise, it turns out that Trevor was guilty after all., and managed to hide the most important elements (the murder weapon and the bloody clothes) using a drone. The protagonist has managed to free a guilty man, but then karma balances the play when a hurt lover of Jan shoots the tech tycoon to death during a public event.

We already know who killed Lara and Jan, but, who killed jerry, the lawyer who left mickey all his cases when he was killed in his car? It turns out that juror number 7, known as McSweeney, did the dirty work under the orders of Judge Holder, the same one who was supervising the protagonist in his return to work. Apparently, what he wanted was to control the entire play, until Mickey found out and turned her over to the police after getting her confession out loud.

But the clue that the end leaves us with a view to a second season has to do with the case of Jesús Menéndez, a former client of Mickey’s who had been wrongfully sentenced to fifteen years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Having found the key witness, Mickey manages to free him from his conviction and also leaves many open questions on the table about the case he was involved in. In the last image of the season, we see a man watching the lawyer on the beach, and, although we don’t see his face, we notice that he has a tattoo on his arm: the same tattoo that the witness described when talking about the real murderer in the Menendez case.

It seems that this will be the path that the story will follow in future episodes, as well as the parallel narrative lines that concern the rest of the characters: Lorna Taylor (Becki Newton) intends to go back to law school to become a lawyer, Cisco (Angus Sampson) has to pay off his debt to the Highway Saints while preparing to marry Lorna, Izzy Letts (Jazz Raycole) must continue to deal with his alcoholism and Maggie McPherson (Neve Campbell) begins a new professional stage after the disappointment experienced with his superiors.
